4th annual Trick or CAN

25 October, 2010 (12:35) | Events | By: Tom Westrick

Come one, come all! It’s time for Catholic Connect’s FOURTH annual Trick or Can food drive for Holy Spirit’s Food Pantry. (I can’t believe we’ve been doing this 4 years!)

For you trick-or-canning newbies, this is our funnest service project of the year! We all get dressed up and go door to door in the neighborhoods surrounding Holy Spirit and say “Trick or Can!” when someone answers the door. (This is often followed by an explanation of what Trick or Can is, even though we’ve been doing it for 4 years and we pass out fliers to all the homes a week ahead of time.) We take the donated goods to Holy Spirit’s food pantry where the food gets distributed to people in need for Thanksgiving.

After we’ve stashed the food at Holy Spirit, we’ll have a little get-together and possibly go out to eat or something.

ALSO!!! First, thank you to everyone who helped with distribution of fliers this past Saturday. Second, we currently have enough fliers distributed to give around 12-15 people enough area to cover, but not much more. If you are planning on attending, please move to the attending column by Tuesday night if possible (see the invite at — http://www.facebook.com/event.php?eid=162647140426412). We can still pass out a few more fliers on Wednesday if necessary, and while it is possible to go to houses at which we did not distribute fliers, the amount of canned goods we tend to receive is a lot lower.
