This week Wednesday, we will be doing our monthy service project, cleaning at the Pregnancy Resource Center at 6:30pm.  Remember we are now cleaning at the Wyoming location (2438 28th St. SW Wyoming, MI 49519) instead of the downtown location.  Once we’re done, we’ll head out to a local restaurant for a bite to eat. 

This week Wednesday, we will be meeting in the Connect room in the basement of Holy Spirit at 7:30pm for our December speaker.  Fr. Oleh Kindii, a priest from the Ukraine, will be joining us to speak on the topic “Church Persecuted and Church Revived: An Example of the Ukrainian Eastern Catholic Church in 20-21 centuries”.  Afterwards, we’ll head out to Applebees for a bite to eat.  

Coming up this weekend, the Happy House (see Facebook event for address) has graciously offered to host our annual End of the Liturgical Year/Ugly Sweater Party Saturday at 7pm!  Due to scheduling conflicts, our party will actually be after Advent begins, but better late than never, right?  Please bring your own drinks and feel free to bring a snack to pass and a game to play. And most importantly, wear an ugly sweater.  Hope to see you all there!

 

This Wednesday, we’ll be meeting in the Connect room at Holy Spirit, but we’ll be meeting a little earlier at 6:45pm in order to have our monthly Vision Meeting where we will be deciding on officers for next year.  Please come if you are interested in getting more involved.  It’s not too late to nominate yourself or someone else for any of the open positions.  Below are the current nominations from last month’s Vision Meeting and attached are the position descriptions.  And as always, we want everyone’s input because Connect wouldn’t exist without all of you.  And then following the Vision Meeting, we’ll head upstairs to the Chapel for Adoration and Confession with Fr. Mark around 7:30 or 7:45.   

 

This Friday, join your fellow Connect members for a night at the Griffins! The Griffins hockey team will take on the Texas Stars at 7:00pm. Plan on meeting outside the main entrance of the Van Andel Arena (130 Fulton West, Grand Rapids, MI 49503) at 6:30pm and then heading inside to buy tickets together so we can all sit in the same area.  After the game or whenever we decide to leave, lets go to some bars downtown and hopefully celebrate their win!

Michael Bliszcz!  He will be speaking on the topic “Year of the Faith”.  We’ll be discussing things like What is faith?; faith in the liturgy (Eastern v. Western Church), how can we grow in faith?  etc.  Afterwards, we’ll head over to Applebees in Standale for a bite to eat as we usually do.  It should be a great discussion so hopefully you can make it!

This week Wednesday, we will be meeting in the Connect room at 6:45pm for our monthly Vision Meeting and following that around 7:30-45pm, we’ll head upstairs to the chapel for Adoration and Confession with Fr. Mark and will commence with a bite to eat at Applebees. The vision meeting is particularly important this month, as we will be nominating officers for the group for next year to be voted on at the December vision meeting. Attached is a list of leadership positions we need to fill in order to keep the group going. Please take a look and think about whether you’d like to run for any of them or can think of someone you’d like to nominate. None of the positions are exremely time consuming and it’s a great way to get more involved. I can’t stress enough that Connect would not exist without all of you and your ideas and involvement!
