This week Wednesday, one of our very own Connectors will be speaking to the group!  Jay Burke has volunteered to share about his experience with NET Ministries this past year.  We will be meeting in the Connect room in the basement of Holy Spirit at 7:30 pm. Once we’re done, we’ll head over to Applebees in Standale for a bite to eat.

This week Wednesday, as we usually do the first week of the month, we will be having our monthly vision meeting in the Connect room in the basement of Holy Spirit at 7pm to discuss upcoming events for the summer and any ideas anyone has for the group. Once we’re done, about 7:30-45, we’ll head up to the chapel for adoration and confession with Fr. Mark.  And of course we’ll follow with a bite to eat at Applebees in Standale.

seeing as we have a 5th week this month, next week Wednesday, we will be having a potluck and kickball game! We’ll meet at the bleachers next to the baseball diamonds behind Holy Spirit at 7pm to allow enough time to eat and play before it gets dark.  Please RSVP to the Facebook event below, bring a dish to pass (fruit, pasta salad, veggies, dessert…whatever you’d like) and post on the event wall what you’re bringing so we don’t have too many duplicates like 20 bags of chips!  We’ve done this several times in the past when we’ve had an extra week and it’s always been a ton of fun with a great turnout, so I see no reason why it wouldn’t be this time!  Feel free to bring anyone you know who may be interested in learning more about Connect, as it’s a laid back fun atmosphere great for meeting new people. Hope you can all make it.

This week Wednesday, seeing as it is the fourth Wednesday of the month, we will continue reading through and discussing the book “The Imitation of Christ” by Thomas Kemphis in small groups.  We will be meeting in the Connect room at our usual time, 7:30pm. And we’ll head out to Applebees for a bite to eat once we’re done.

This week Wednesday, we’ll be doing our monthly service project, cleaning at the Wyoming Pregnancy Resource Center (2438 28th St. SW Wyoming, MI 49519) from 6:30 to 8pm. Please meet there at 6:30 and then we’ll head out for a bite to eat once we’re done.

We’d like to welcome Sr. Teresa Margaret, Sr. Anne Marie and postulants Susan and Laura Redlinger, of the Sisters of the Divine Heart of Jesus, to Connect this week Wednesday!  They will be talking about their order, vocation stories, and an upcoming retreat they are planning.  It should be a great time, so please come out and join us.  We will meet in the Connect room in the basement of Holy Spirit at 7:30pm.  And once we’re done, we’ll head out to Applebees for a bite to eat.

Get ready for our first Theology on Tap of 2013 on Wednesday, April 24th!  Just like it has been in the past, it will be held at Derby Station in Eastown (2237 Wealthy St. Grand Rapids, MI 49506).  Brett Elder, Director of Collaborative Initiatives at the Acton Institute, will be speaking on Christian Stewardship. Please arrive around 7pm, head for the room way in the back of the restaurant (we have it reserved especially for us), sign in, grab a seat, order food/drinks, socialize and the talk will begin at 7:30.  It’s a really laid back, fun atmosphere, so you know of anyone interested in Connect, this would be a great opportunity to bring them to check it out!
