Mark your calendars! The ANNUAL CONNECT CANOE TRIP will be held the 3rd weekend of July (Friday 7/22- Sunday 7/24).

We will camp at Baxter Bridge Campground (http://www.michigandnr.com/parksandtrails/Details.aspx?id=594&type=SFCG) along the Manistee River Fridaynight. Saturday morning, we’ll load our gear into canoes and head off down the river. Once it gets to be dinner time, we’ll look for a nice flat spot on the side to set up camp for the night. Sunday morning we’ll load the canoe’s again and finish the trip at the canoe livery (www.wildernesscanoetripsonline.com) around 1 or 2. If you can’t make it Fri night, but want to meet us at the canoe livery by 9am Sat morning, that works too.

Mass will be in the evening at St. Andrews Cathedral in downtown GR, either at 5:30 pm or 7:30 pm Sunday depending on when we get back.

This is a very laid back and fun trip, no canoeing/camping expertise needed. We aren’t paddling all day, every day and stop several times along the way to go swimming, climb dunes, have lunch, shoot each other with water guns, swing on random rope swings if we happen to find some, etc. and in the evenings we hang out by the fire, make smores, maybe say a group rosary and just enjoy fellowship with great friends. It’s a great way to get away and relax.
